Doctor

  • Dr. Scott W Kelman , B.Sc., D.V.M.


    Dr. Scott Kelman is a 1998 graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.  Dr. Kelman became a partner at the practice in January 2001. His areas of interest lie mainly in internal medicine, endoscopy, behaviour medicine and pain management.

    Dr. Kelman is a member in good standing of the Canadian and Alberta Veterinary Medical Associations, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the Calgary Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

    In his spare time Dr. Kelman thrives on spending time with his young children. He also has a multitude of pets at home including fish, mice, two Greyhounds named "Qeynos" and "Jasper" and two crazy American Shorthair cats named "Bubba" and "Diego".

  • Dr. Julie T Schell , B.Sc. (Hons.), D.V.M., C.V.A.


    Dr. Julie Schell graduated in 2002 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and joined Bow Bottom Veterinary Hospital in April of 2002 and in September 2003 she became partner.  She was born and raised in Calgary and completed a Bachelor of Science in Honours Zoology at the University of Calgary in 1998.  Dr. Schell enjoys writing animal health columns for pet magazines and has appeared on A-Channel's Big Breakfast and CityTV's Breakfast TV to discuss animal health.  Dr. Schell was awarded the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association Young Vet of the Year in 2006.  Dr. Schell thoroughly enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and has special interests in surgery, diagnostic imaging, acupuncture, oncology, nutrition, ophthalmology, herbal medicine and dentistry. A Shiba Inu, a Siamese cat, three Canaries, and two Cockatiels comprise her pet family. Dr. Schell lives by this phrase: "Do what you love and love what you do, and you'll never work a day in your life."

Management

  • Tracey Ruzicka , rAHT, VPM


    Tracey grew up in Southern Saskatchewan on a mixed cattle and grain farm and, as a little girl, was always surrounded by animals. Tracey graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland College in 1998. She joined the Bow Bottom team in the summer of 2001.  Tracey has  been taking registered Veterinary Management training courses and is a very competent veterinary practice manager.  She is in charge of helping direct hospital developments and improvements, human resorces and client satisfaction.  An excellent problem solver, Tracey is always ready to perfect client service and patient care! Tracey loves to visit with all clients and their pets. She has 2 cats of her own - Shaka and Zeuko.

Technician

  • Erin Scott , rAHT


    Erin is a registered Animal Health Technologist, who graduated from Olds College.  She loves animals and can't wait to take care of yours!  Erin's special interests include puppy education and helping overweight pets lose the extra pounds.  She owns an adorable Westhighland White Terrier named Scamp.  Vetsuite_Img_40423

  • Anne Richards , rAHT


    Anne is the owner of 2 beloved domestic short haired cats.  She graduated from Animal Health Technician School in Fairview, Alberta.  She is a welcome addition to Team BBVH!  She owns two black cats- Calvin, as well as his mother named Bailey.  Calvin is being successfully treated for hyperthyroidism and is doing very well.


  • Hannah Kenworthy


    Hannah is almost finished her final semester with Olds College's registered Animal Health Tehnologist program.  She writes her board examinations for final certification in January 2010.  We know you will do well Hannah!  We look very forward to having her join our rAHT team when she graduates!


Reception

  • Iris Bodnarchuk


    Iris is a multi-dimentional, multi-tasking animal lover who is one of the friendly faces helping clients and pets at reception.  Iris is always helping out, soon she will also be trained as an assistant!  She is the owner of two amazing and well loved dogs named Laredo and her newest addition, Legend.  Laredo is a very special dog who recently appeared with Dr. Schell on BTV!

  • Kim Hyndman , VOA


    Kim is a recent graduate of Robertson College where she achieved a diploma for Veterinary Office Assistant.  Her enthusiastic nature is well suited for helping to care for our beloved patients and hospital.  Kim owns a sweet cat named Flurrie and an energetic Bernese Mountain Dog mixed breed named Chaos.

  • Kirstin Wark , VOA


    Kristin is an extremely compassionate pet owner and animal enthusiast.  She happily assists the Bow Bottom team and clients throughout her day!  She enjoys fostering dogs for Pets for LIfe to improve their rehabilitation and social skills.  Kirstin is a certified Veterinary Office Assistant and has a Business Marketing and Management diploma.   • Christine Campbell , VOA


    Christine is a certified VOA, a Veterinary Office Assistant.  She is the loving owner of 2 dogs, a Husky mixed breed named Duike and a Chow Chow named Nami.  She also owns 2 cats, named Magick and Psycho.  Christine is an enthusiastic animal lover who rescues, rehabilitates and socializes many foster dogs and cats.   • Brittany Preece


    Brittany is an animal lover!  She has grown up with pets and enjoys providing loving care for our overnight and daycare guests. 


  • Alicia Mayer


    Alicia is the newest member of our extended care team.  She has had lots of experience giving lots of animals love, supervision and care. 


  • Breanne Russell


    Breanne's goal is to exercise our daycare guests and overnight patients.  She also gives lots of love and attention to our patients and helps monitor them well.


  • Tanice McMinis


    Tanice loves playing and grooming all of the extended care and day care guests.  She is always smiling and helps keep the pets happy and well loved!
